Visa applications at our Embassy are by appointment only. Please prepare the following documents and make an appointment.
・Who needs a visa?
Haitian Nationalities | Required regardless of purpose or period of stay. | |
Non-Haitian Nationalities | Visa Exemption Countries and Regions (List) | Not required if the purpose of the stay is short-term (90 days or less) and the purpose is tourism, etc. |

・General Rules for Visa Application
Minimum number of days required | It takes at least 5 business days to have your visa issued. We do not provide an early issuing service. |
How to apply | Applicants need to appear in Person at the Embassy (appointment only). The Embassy does not accept applications by mail. |
Visa expiry date | A single entry visa is valid for three months. We will NOT accept any visa applications more than 3 months before your departure date. |
Passport | We will hold your passport while your visa application is being processed. There is no 6 month rule. As long as your passport is valid for the duration of your stay in Japan, you're fine. Your passport must have at least 1.5 blank pages remaining. |
・Processing time
In general, it takes 5 business days to issue a visa. (ex., If you apply on Monday, you can pick up a visa next Monday. Our holidays are not counted as business days.)
Depending on the content of your application, it may take some time to process, so we recommend that you apply for your visa one month before your departure. We do not provide an early issuing service.

1.Passport | Valid Passport, Your passport must have at least 1.5 blank pages remaining. |

4.Confirmation slip/certificate/other documents to prove reservation of air(/ship) boarding ticket or Information on planned schedule of flight (/cruise) with entry /departure dateto /from Japan |
Dates must match your itinerary(6.) It should include the entire trip. No ticket purchase is necessary. The Embassy is not responsible for air tickets that may become unusable due to visa delays or refusals. |
5. Proof of sufficient funds to defray all the expenses while in Japan | ・A certificate of income or tax payment issued by a public agency ・Certificate of deposit balance |
6. Itinerary during stay in Japan | Form It must match Flight Schedule(4.). Please provide as much detail as possible about your travel plans in Japan. |
・Short-Term Business Affairs, etc.
7. Proof of sufficient funds to defray all the expenses while in Japan | ・Travel requisition by employer or ・Letter of mission or ・Similar documents to above |
8. Certificate of employment | It will need to be signed. |
